Maryland State Police arrest woman in connection with armed road rage incident in Prince George's County

(FORESTVILLE, MD) – Maryland State Police have arrested a woman who allegedly pointed a gun at a motorist during a DUI incident in Prince George's County late last week.

The defendant, identified as Brittany Erin Cousar, 37, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, was arrested at her residence in Prince George's County on September 12, 2024. She is charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated assault, as well as assault and weapons offenses. Cousar was granted private house arrest after being held without bail.

A preliminary investigation revealed that on September 11, 2024, Forestville Barrack Police officers responded to a report of a traffic collision involving a white BMW SUV. The driver, later identified as Cousar, reportedly pointed a firearm at another driver near Route 5 and Surratts Road. The plaintiff's child was in the vehicle at the time of the dispute.

Investigators located the suspect's vehicle later that same day at Cousar's residence and seized two loaded handguns from the vehicle. During a police interview, Cousar attempted to destroy evidence by smashing her cellphone. She was arrested and transported to Forestville Barrack for processing.
