Passengers hang for 40 minutes in the roller coaster festival

For 40 minutes, passengers were stuck on a slope on the “Blue Fire” roller coaster at Europapark Rust. It was not the first time that the attraction had caused problems.

Anxious moments: During an incident at Europa-Park near Rust, passengers waited a total of 40 minutes on the “Blue Fire” roller coaster.

The track remained tilted sideways before the first climb on Wednesday (September 11, 2024). A total of 20 people were affected, said a spokesperson for the park. The track was put back into operation that afternoon. “The problem has been solved again.” The train was carefully analyzed. A small part required for the magnetic start was weakened and replaced.

“Too little energy” – passengers remain stuck on the roller coaster incline

“A train on the roller coaster was unable to overcome the first climb at around 1 p.m. due to insufficient energy at the start and came to a standstill there,” said the spokesman on Wednesday. The train was able to be driven back as planned so that guests could leave the ride on the ground. “At no time did a dangerous situation arise. The safety and well-being of guests are always the top priority for Europa-Park.”

This is not the first incident with the roller coaster. The “Blue Fire” had already failed to complete a curve in April and rolled back four times. A spokeswoman for the park spoke of a so-called rollback. At the time, technical reasons were identified. The roller coaster rolled back twice with passengers. After that, there were two attempts without passengers. The error has been corrected, it was said.

Europa-Park in Rust near Freiburg is Germany's largest amusement park.
