Student arrested for alleged threats of mass violence in Warren County

MCMINNVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A student in Warren County is facing charges after allegedly making various threats of mass violence, according to District Attorney General Chris Stanford.

The DA reports about three weeks ago, the student was arrested and still remains in custody.

This is the second incident involving a threat against schools in the county in 2024. The DA adds that the other student is no longer enrolled in WCS.

“Although evidence revealed that neither youth had the means or a plan ready to execute any incident of mass violence, this fact is irrelevant,” Stanford said.

The DA goes on to implore parents to have conversations with their kids to avoid these incidents — citing that the county’s juvenile court judge is seemingly sharing law enforcement’s mission to treat these threats very seriously.
