BJP Sikh cell in Delhi protests against Rahul Gandhi’s statements

Members of the BJP's Sikh cell in Delhi staged a protest rally against Rahul Gandhi near his residence at Janpath 10 on Wednesday, demanding an apology from the Congress leader for his remarks about the Sikh community in the US.

Protesters, including women, shouted slogans and carried placards as they tried to approach Gandhi's residence from Vigyan Bhawan, but were stopped by police at a barricade. Tarvinder Marwah, head of the BJP's Sikh cell in Delhi, said Gandhi should look into his family history and acknowledge the atrocities his grandmother and father had committed against the Sikhs.

Marwah warned Gandhi to refrain from such comments, citing the assassination of Indira Gandhi, Rahul's grandmother, in 1984 after Operation Blue Star. The protesters accused the Congress of wronging the Sikh community in the past and demanded Gandhi's apology for his remarks in Washington DC, where he had questioned the religious freedom of Sikhs in India. BJP spokesperson RP Singh and Sikh cell chief Charanjeet Singh Lovely echoed these views, claiming that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, Sikhs felt safer and progress was being made.
