Dewpider 100% perfect IV stats, shiny Dewpider in Pokémon Go

This week Hour of the spotlight is all about the Water Bubble Pokémon. That means it is the perfect opportunity to Taupe In Pokemon Go!

The plan for this week's Spotlight Hour is to catch as many Ball Thing as possible—both for the chance to Shiny Hunt a PVP Pokémon in Pokémon Go and for the Double-Catch Stardust bonus that runs alongside the event.

Dewpider 100% perfect IV stats in Pokémon Go

This week's Spotlight Hour is a great opportunity to catch a Dewpider with perfect IV stats.

Dewdrops.

Of course, “perfect” means two things in Pokémon Go. First, there is the maximum 100% IV version, the 15/15/15 you're looking for in your 4* Pokédex, raids, and Master League. However, since CP is calculated based on three stats, a perfect IV Pokémon is always just the best version of itself in the Master League.

Of course, you can't see a Pokémon's IV without catching it first, but with a little research beforehand, you can quickly identify a perfect Dewpider based on CP alone.

If you are level 30 (or higher), ideally you are looking for the following CPs for a perfect 15/15/15 Dewpider:

  • Level 30 (wild CP maximum) – 612 CP
  • Level 35 (weather enhanced wild CP maximum – 663 CP
  • The wild CP value is equal to your trainer level until you reach level 30. Since the majority of the player base is now above this level, we have kept these values for simplicity. However, these values will be different if you are currently below level 30.

    Is Araquanid good in PVP?

Yeah, actually, it's not bad. Technically, Dewpider and Araquanid are the only Water/Bug-type Pokemon in the game, and we love it when a unique typing does well?

What do you mean there are a lot of Bug/Water type Pokémon (Surskit, Wimpod, and Golisopod?) and it's not mechanically unique? That doesn't matter at all, because we're talking about technical details here.

While this isn't mechanically unique, it's still a cool piece of trivia. Back to Go Battle League: Araquanid is running Insect bite, insect buzzing and bubble jet. While it used to be a handy counter to Walrein, both have declined in popularity. It's still a decent Pokemon in the Great League, there are just better options these days (like Golisopod).

In the Great League, you can look forward to victories against Cresselia, Shadow Whiscash, Quagsire, Vigoroth, and Medicham. Losses will be recorded against Lickitung, Skarmory, Shadow Gligar, Annihilape, and Azumarill.

Looking at the Ultra League, we see rapidly diminishing returns, with our CP peaking at 2065 for a perfect 15/15/15. This means that the extreme bulk we saw in the Great League is now starting to be surpassed. You can still win against Greninja, Umbreon, Cresselia, Walrein, and Swampert, but expect losses against Talonflame, Giratina Altered, Poliwrath, Virizion, and Steelix.

Dewpider is just terrible in the Master League.

Max Out season is here! GO Big is currently underway in Pokémon Go. You can now catch Dynamax Pokémon through Max Battles. First, however, you'll need to visit Power Spots to collect Max Motes and complete the “To the Max!” quest. Don't forget to try out Routes, Gift Exchange, and Party Play while hunting rare Pokémon, battling in the Go Battle League, or attending PokéStop Showcases.

Is there a shiny Dewpider in Pokémon Go?

Yes, Shiny Dewpider is in Pokémon Go! It was released in August 2023 at the start of Go Fest 2023 together with the Petilil family.

Everything in the Dewpider series is Water/Bug type. (Image via pokemon.com)

Of course, keep in mind that this isn't a Community Day and shiny rates aren't being boosted. This means that while it's technically possible to catch a shiny Dewpider during the event, the chances of finding one are incredibly slim.

What does shiny taupe look like?

    Shiny Dewpider looks pretty cute.

It swaps its lime green for a deep purple and its blue eyes and accents for a great shade of red. The same goes for Araquanid. Of course, its water bubbles don't change color, but that makes sense. All in all, these are both very cool shinies, as you can see below!

More reasons to catch as many Pokémon as possible

Aside from trying to catch a perfect poly in Pokémon Go, there are a few other reasons to take part in this week's Spotlight Hour.

    • The best reason is of course the Double Catch Stardust Bonus runs for the entire hour. The base price of 100 Stardust per catch, which means that every catch is worth 200 Stardust.
    • If the weather in Pokémon Go is good—in this case, it's raining—you'll get double the normal weather bonus (plus 50 Stardust).
    • All of this can be stacked with a Star Piece to give all Stardust gained a x1.5 multiplier.
    • Since Dewpider is a Water/Bug type, catching a lot of them during this Spotlight Hour will add progress to your respective Catch Bonus Medals.

Spotlight Hour events last just one hour from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time. Come back next week to learn more about Woingenauwhen it waddles into the spotlight!

Good luck finding the perfect Dewpider Pokémon!
