Police: Two Vermont residents had drugs in stolen vehicle

Two Vermont residents are accused of having illegal drugs in a stolen vehicle.

Ashley J. Brown, 36, was stopped for a traffic violation on Broadway in Fort Edward at approximately 1:50 a.m. on September 2.

In the vehicle, which was reported stolen on September 1, officers found drugs and glass smoking devices with drug residue.

Brown and her passenger, Jake F. Desjadon, 37, were charged with illegal possession of stolen property and illegal possession of a controlled substance. Desjadon was also charged with identity fraud for allegedly giving investigators a false name, and Brown was charged with traffic violations.

Desjadon was taken to the Washington County Jail without bail. Brown was released on his own bail.
